Season 1

After The Kings Of The Palencia Forest

Perseverance, setting a goal, and fighting for it until the end. In this episode, we experience several days of stalking red deer during the rut, the time when our forests are filled with their powerful calls. Our protagonists aim to harvest a fine mountain stag, embracing the challenge of the hunt. It is late September, the rut has begun, and the rains have come. We will test the saying: “When the stag’s back gets wet, the roaring begins.”

After The Kings Of The Palencia Forest II

After several days of searching, the outcome is near. Mid-September rains wet the back of the mountain stag, signaling the peak of the rut, when these animals become distracted and vulnerable. Following an initial failed attempt, our hunters return to Ramón’s hunting grounds in Palencia for another stalk in pursuit of a fine trophy. Open terrain and the scarcity of top-quality stags add to the challenge of this demanding and uncertain hunt. Yet, perseverance and determination ultimately bring the hunters their reward.

The Introduction Of The European Giant

Our protagonist today was once a prized game species for our ancestors, as evidenced by cave paintings, but disappeared from the Iberian Peninsula some 10,000 years ago. Now, after millennia of absence, the European bison has returned under protection to Spanish lands. At the Encinarejo estate in the heart of Sierra de Andújar, red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, and mouflon now share the pastures with this giant since 2020. A symbol of conservation and natural heritage, the bison is once again a magnificent sight to behold, reconnecting us with a piece of history long thought lost.

Between mountains and chamois I

True high-mountain hunting in the peaks of the León side of the Picos de Europa. Ignacio and Gonzalo set their sights on the elusive female chamois, a trophy that requires determination and effort to find and harvest. This species is known for seeking the highest and most inaccessible places, making the pursuit especially demanding. Success will depend on the team’s preparation, Ramón’s expert advice to locate the animal, and the endurance of the hunters to reach such extreme terrain. An authentic mountain adventure in pursuit of one of Spain’s most elusive trophies.

Between mountains and chamois II

The Young Wild Hunters team embarks on a new adventure in the León side of the Picos de Europa, in northern Spain. This time, the mission is for both Ignacio and Gonzalo to harvest a female chamois—an elusive animal that inhabits the highest peaks of these mountains. Joined once again by Ramón, who guides them in finding these spectacular creatures, the hunters first prepare and fine-tune their rifles before beginning the journey. Once in the Picos de Europa, a long ascent to the summit begins, marking the start of a true high-mountain challenge in search of chamois.

The Mistake Before The Success

In this adventure, we travel to the sierras of Guadalajara and Teruel for exciting stalk hunts of Iberian ibex females and red deer. The hunters, armed with both rifle and bow, are accompanied by tracking dogs whose indispensable help ensures the recovery of wounded game. Amidst beautiful landscapes and with roe deer and stags crossing their path, the team experiences an authentic hunting journey that combines skill, tradition, and respect for nature. The adventure culminates at the table, savoring the harvested game meat as the perfect ending to a true hunting experience.
