Season 1

Abandoned Dreams

The abandoned boat dilemma is one of the most frustrating and alarming issues facing British Columbia's coastal communities. Reaching the end of their life cycle, with limited disposal options and almost no way to track ownership, hundreds of old boats are being left to rot, and sink or drift onto beaches and shorelines around our province. The result is a province-wide problem that affects coastal navigation, tourism and the environment. Abandoned Dreams looks into the root causes of this derelict boat epidemic and the future plans for safe boat disposal and recycling in BC.

Then and Now

West Coast Pincers

It all began with the awe-struck observations of Captain George Vancouver during his late 1700s exploration of this remarkable region. His accounts of the "large and well-flavored" Dungeness crabs and their status as "excellent food" still resonate today. Vancouver also noted the remarkable skills of indigenous communities in crabbing and their intricate trade networks that extended to neighboring communities. "West Coast Pincers" seeks to illuminate this rich tapestry of history and culture. Our documentary will journey through key facets of crabbing that shape the tapestry of British Columbia's coastal life.

Wild Harvest
